Reprocessed, by Matt Patterson

Something approaching a weblog

Say hi to the new site

So, I've finally shipped a new version of reprocessed.org. It's essentially a prototype -- I did the least possible work to get something up and running, so there's a load of stuff missing (comments, primarily), but hopefully I've got a platform to build the fun and interesting things I've wanted to build but couldn't make Movable Type do (at least, do easily enough).

The design's been tweaked, as has the navigation, but there's a whole load of problems with it, and I'll be looking at that, but I think it's a bit better than it used to be... Although, having said that, the ordering of things on archivish pages is buggered. (I guess it's about even then...)

One good thing is that a lot of the old content that was blog-like in form has been brought into the blog proper, which is why you can see stuff going back to 1997... There are a few more things that could do with that treatment, and the question of what to do with things like my dissertation remains.

It's built in Rails and served using Mongrels behind an Apache 2 instance running mod_proxy_balancer. It's deployed on a Ubuntu box mostly using my new dpkg-tools package building stuff, of which more in a later post.

For now, have a look round, and see what you can break...

Not forgetting:
